The SMOKAH armor foil comes as a pack of 50 cut sheets of 15 × 15 cm each. The aluminium foil is 40 µm thick, unpierced and intended for bowls that you smoke with foil.
Thickness instead of several layers
Many people fold household aluminium foil double or even four-fold so it does not tear when pulled tight and pierced. Armor foil is much thicker, one layer is enough. That saves steps when packing the bowl.
Ready-cut sheets
The sheets are already cut to 15 × 15 cm, so you do not have to tear anything off a roll. The foil has to reach over the rim all the way round and sit tight. For bowls with a very wide rim, check beforehand whether 15 cm is enough.
Pierce it yourself
The foil is not pre-pierced. You decide the hole pattern and hole size yourself, to suit bowl, tobacco and coals. For this you use a poker or the tip of a tobacco fork. The holes should not be too small, otherwise the bowl gets very hot. With the Phunnel, the middle above the chimney stays unpierced.
How to use the armor foil
- Put tobacco loosely into the bowl and do not press it down. Leave some space between tobacco and foil.
- Pull a sheet tight over the rim so that it seals all the way round.
- Pierce holes evenly with a poker or fork, and leave out the middle with the Phunnel.
- Re-tighten the foil if needed, place the coals, start smoking and control the heat via the number and position of the coals.

How many layers do I need?
One. With armor foil a single sheet is enough, you do not have to fold it double.
Is the foil already pierced?
No. You pierce it yourself with a poker and adapt the hole pattern to your setup.
Can I use a sheet again?
Clean pieces without stuck-on tobacco can possibly be used again for the next session. If the foil is dirty or deformed, use a new sheet.
