The AO hose spring is a stainless steel spring, 11 cm long, for the hose end at the connection. It supports the hose there and is meant to prevent it from kinking at this point. It is available in several colours.
This version shows the bare silver of the stainless steel; in the shade the spring looks rather grey. You can find matching silicone hoses under hookah hoses.
Kink protection at the connection
The hose end at the connection is the part under the most strain. If the hose kinks there, drawing becomes harder. The spring stabilises this point and helps keep the airflow even.
For silicone hoses
The hose spring is designed for silicone hoses. It is made of stainless steel and is simply slid over the hose end, no tools needed.
How to fit the hose spring
- Place the spring on the hose end that sits at the connection.
- Pull the spring over the hose until it surrounds the point at the connection.
- Connect the hose and check that it no longer kinks at this point.
