On accessories, carbon often shapes the grip or a sleeve. Check on the product whether real material or an explicitly named look is meant.

Under carbon you mainly find mouthpieces and individual parts around the downstem. The material rarely stands alone but is combined with metal or resin.
Common partners
- Stainless steel: the most frequent, for instance as connector or core.
- Epoxy resin: often carries the surface; the name then usually says resin.
- Aluminium and silicone: turn up only occasionally.
Carbon is light and stiff, but not every carbon look is made of carbon fibre. The description shows whether a part is manufactured from the material or merely styled that way.
With carbon mouthpieces, besides looks the connection matters most: does the fitting suit your hose? Length and weight also differ from model to model and can be compared before you choose.
