Description

The Diamond Hookah clay bowl is a classic multi-hole bowl made of a clay blend with five holes in the bottom. It is around 8 cm tall and 6.6 cm wide and holds around 20 g of tobacco.

Classic clay bowl with five holes

There are five holes in the bottom of the depot, and the tobacco sits directly above them. This is the classic design: easy to pack, forgiving of small mistakes and giving a good draw. At around 20 g, the depot is large enough for a normal session.

What is different with a multi-hole bowl

Unlike a phunnel, there is no chimney that keeps the molasses in the bowl. If the tobacco is too wet or packed too tightly, molasses can run through the holes into the stem. That is why you pack the clay bowl loosely and stir the tobacco well beforehand.

Aluminium foil or chimney attachment

The clay bowl is made for the classic setup. With aluminium foil you fill it about three quarters full so that the tobacco does not touch the foil. With a chimney attachment the coal sits higher, so you can fill it to just below the rim.

Clay blend in several colours

The bowl is made of a clay blend that stores the heat and releases it evenly to the tobacco. The models differ only in colour; shape and depot are the same.

How to pack the clay bowl with aluminium foil

  1. Before first use, briefly rinse the bowl with water and let it dry.
  2. Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin so the molasses is evenly distributed. Let very wet tobacco drain briefly.
  3. Sprinkle tobacco loosely into the depot, about three quarters high, and do not press it down. The five holes in the bottom must stay free.
  4. Keep the rim clean, stretch strong aluminium foil or two layers of thin foil tightly and pierce many small holes.
  5. Place two to three fully glowing coals, warm up for a few minutes and control the heat via the number and position of the coals. Add more if needed.

Frequently asked questions

How much tobacco fits in the clay bowl?

Around 20 g. Exactly how much depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack.

How many holes does the bowl have?

Five, all in the bottom of the depot. Keep them free when packing, otherwise the bowl draws heavily.

Do the models differ?

Only in colour. Shape, depot and holes are the same on all models.

How do I clean the bowl?

Only once the bowl has cooled down completely do you empty it, rinse it with water and let it dry. Hot ceramic does not tolerate a cold shock.
