The AO pan chimney attachment in silver is a stainless steel chimney attachment with a large surface and a handle with heat protection. It measures around 10 × 9 × 4 cm and weighs around 90 g. The coals sit on the attachment instead of on aluminium foil.
Large surface for at least four coals
You can spread at least four coals on the surface. You control the heat through the position of the coals: if they are further inside, the tobacco gets more heat; if they are further outside, the bowl runs more gently.
Handle with heat protection
The handle has heat protection. This lets you take the attachment off and put it back on without burning your fingers. Even with heat protection: the metal gets hot, so use tongs or a glove if needed.
Stainless steel instead of aluminium foil
The attachment is made of stainless steel. You save yourself stretching and piercing the foil, so packing the bowl is quicker. In return you have an open setup that is more sensitive to wind than an HMD with a lid.
How to use the chimney attachment
- Pack the tobacco loosely into the bowl and do not press it down. Leave enough space to the attachment; the tobacco should not touch the metal.
- Put the chimney attachment centrally on the bowl and check that it sits firmly.
- Spread well-glowing coals on the surface.
- Heat up for a few minutes.
- Control the heat through the position and number of coals: if the smoke is harsh, push the coals outwards or remove one.
Care
Let the attachment cool down completely, remove the ash and clean it with warm water and a brush. Do not scrape off burnt-in residue with force.
