The Jookah Mr. Fatman is a gas coal lighter for natural charcoal that does not need a power outlet. You insert a 190 g pierce-type cartridge, adjust the flame at the control valve and bring the charcoal to a full glow on the metal attachment – on the balcony, in the garden or on the go.
How it works
The gas cartridge sits at the bottom of the housing, with the burner above it. The side control valve lets you set the flame size continuously. According to the packaging, the burner delivers 0.8 kW, and consumption is stated as 13 to 85 g per hour.
Lighting the charcoal
The large metal attachment has a diameter of around 12.5 cm and, according to the manufacturer, holds up to ten cubes of 26 mm. The overall height is about 25 cm. Turn the cubes now and then with the charcoal tongs so they start glowing from all sides.
- Insert the cartridge following the instructions and stand the device upright.
- Place the attachment, spread out the charcoal and light the burner.
- Set the flame at the control valve and turn the charcoal regularly.
- Use the tongs to put the fully glowing charcoal into the charcoal basket or onto the head, then close the valve.
Only light charcoal outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.
