One Nation · One - Nation - Hookah - Cubes - 26 - 1 kg
€4.90*
One Nation Cubes are natural charcoal cubes for the hookah, pressed from coconut shells. You choose the edge length 26, 27 or 28 mm, and each order is delivered as one 1 kg pack.
Which edge length suits your setup?
The number in the name is the edge length in millimetres. With the same pack weight, the bigger the cubes, the fewer of them are in the pack. A larger cube gives off more heat per piece and glows longer. In a small bowl or under an HMD you usually need less heat, in a large bowl with a chimney attachment or foil a bit more is fine. In the end you regulate the heat via the number and position of the cubes.
Natural charcoal from coconut shells
The cubes contain no igniter additive. You therefore cannot light them with a lighter; they need a charcoal lighter or a gas flame. Once fully glowing, natural charcoal is considered taste-neutral, and little ash is produced. As a guideline, suppliers quote about one and a half to two hours of burn time for coconut cubes of this size. How long a cube lasts for you depends on heat, foil and draw.
How to use One Nation Cubes
- Place the cubes on the charcoal lighter with tongs or hold them over the gas flame.
- Let them glow all the way through until the cubes are evenly covered with grey ash. This takes a few minutes.
- Tap off loose ash and place the cubes on the foil or HMD with the tongs.
- Regulate the heat via the number of cubes and add a freshly glowing one if needed.
- Only light and use charcoal in a well-ventilated area.
Storage
Keep the cubes dry and sealed.

Frequently asked questions
Which size should I choose?
For small bowls and HMDs, rather the smaller edge length; for large bowls with a chimney attachment or foil, the larger one. Fine-tune with the number of cubes.
Can I light the cubes with a lighter?
No. Natural charcoal needs a charcoal lighter or a gas flame. For lighting with a lighter there are the One Nation Lighting Cubes #Quickie.
When are the cubes ready?
When they are glowing all the way through and carry an even layer of grey ash. Charcoal placed on too early can spoil the flavour.
