The AO bowl seal is a smooth silicone ring in white or black. It sits between the bowl and the stem and makes the push-fit connection airtight, so your setup does not draw false air.
What the bowl seal is for
If the connection between bowl and stem does not seal properly, the hookah draws air past at this point and the draw suffers. The bowl seal closes this gap. Silicone withstands the heat at the bowl and does not pick up foreign smells.
Dimensions and fit
- Height: approx. 2.5 cm
- Wall thickness: approx. 0.4 cm
- Wide end: Ø inside approx. 2.0 cm, outside approx. 2.8 cm
- Narrow end: Ø inside approx. 1.3 cm, outside approx. 1.9 cm
The seal has standard dimensions and is intended for clay, stone and glass bowls. Still, compare the dimensions with your bowl and the connection of your stem before you order.
How to fit the bowl seal
- Take off the bowl and pull out the old seal.
- Insert the new bowl seal straight, without twisting it.
- Push the bowl on until it sits firmly. You do not have to force anything tight; too much force can damage the material.
- Give the hose a short pull. If it hisses at the connection, the seal is not seated properly.
Care and replacement
Silicone lasts longer than ordinary rubber but is still a wearing part. Rinse the seal with clean water now and then. Replace it as soon as it is no longer elastic, shows cracks or smells of old tobacco.

There is no fixed interval. What matters is its condition: elasticity, cracks and smell tell you when it is time.

Bowl holds perfectly!
I've already tested the seal on the The Plug, Popo and Oblako Mono and it holds firmly without any problems. So you can't go wrong with this 😉
