The Huka Stack Phoenix top is a chimney top made of heat-resistant metal and replaces aluminum foil. The charcoal lies on the finely perforated sieve, and the top sits on the head. It comes in silver and gold.
Chimney instead of foil
You do not have to stretch foil or poke holes. The holes in the sieve are always the same, and the charcoal lies on the sieve at a distance from the tobacco and does not slip away. Because it does not lie directly on the tobacco, a chimney is more forgiving than foil. In return it needs a bit more heat, so usually more coals.
Fit on the head
The top goes on the head; heads made of clay or stone are typical. It must lie flat and must not wobble. If it is too small for the rim or sits crooked, a gap forms and the heat goes unevenly into the tobacco.
How to use the top
- Fill the head loosely and do not press the tobacco down.
- Put the top with sieve flat on the head.
- Place three to four lit coals in the middle of the sieve and take your time to get it going.
- If it gets too hot or the smoke too strong, push the coals outward or take one away.
- For long sessions add charcoal.
Care and cleaning
Let the top cool down completely. Then remove ash, charcoal dust and tobacco residue from the sieve.

Do I still need aluminum foil?
No. The sieve replaces the foil.
How many coals do I need?
Start with three to four. How many it ends up being depends on the head, the tobacco and the wind. You can regulate the heat via the position of the coals.
Why does it smoke badly?
Usually heat is missing or the tobacco is packed too tightly. Add a coal and pack the head more loosely.
Do the models differ?
Only in color.
