The ShishaX VOLTA replaces the head and the charcoal: two separately adjustable heat zones, a swappable battery with USB-C pass-through, regular shisha tobacco.
Principle
Head and charcoal in one device
The ShishaX VOLTA sits where the head would normally go and heats the tobacco electrically. No lighting, no changing charcoal, no ash.

Two heat zones, adjustable separately
Radiant heat from the lid above, contact heat from the chamber wall at the side. You set both zones individually.
Battery
Swappable battery instead of a charging break
One charge lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours. With a second ShishaX VOLTA Battery, you simply swap it and carry on.

USB-C with pass-through
Charge in the device or externally, about 1 to 1.5 hours. The ShishaX VOLTA keeps running on the cable as long as the battery is fitted.

How to start

FillingLower screen into the ceramic chamber, about 10 g of tobacco loosely on top, upper screen on, wipe the rim.

What is an electric hookah head?
A hookah head with its own electric heater. It replaces the clay head and the charcoal: in the ShishaX VOLTA, the tobacco sits in a ceramic chamber and is heated electrically from above and from the side.
Is the ShishaX VOLTA an e-hookah that uses liquid?
No. It works without liquid and without cartridges. You fill the ceramic chamber with regular shisha tobacco, and the device only takes over the charcoal's job as a heat source.
Can you smoke hookah without charcoal?
Yes, with an electric hookah head like the ShishaX VOLTA. The heat comes from two heat zones powered by a swappable battery, so there's no lighting or changing charcoal.
What tobacco can I use, and how much?
Regular shisha tobacco, dark leaf as well as blonde. About 10 g goes loosely between a lower and an upper metal screen per fill.
What temperature should I set?
As a starting point, the manufacturer recommends 200°C in both zones, about 200–240°C for dark leaf and about 180–220°C for blonde. From there, adjust in small steps.
How long does the ShishaX VOLTA need to preheat?
About 8 minutes. You can skip the preheat by holding the on/off button while it's preheating.
How long does the battery last, and how long does charging take?
One charge lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on temperature. Charging via USB-C takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, longer with basic chargers; the battery charges with up to 24 W in the device and up to 36 W externally.
Can I smoke while it's charging?
Yes. The ShishaX VOLTA supports pass-through: it keeps running on the USB-C cable as long as the battery is fitted.
How long does a session last?
As long as you set it on the device. A double tap extends it in 10-minute steps, up to a maximum of 150 minutes in total.
Do I need the app?
No. The ShishaX VOLTA can be operated entirely via the display and buttons. The ShishaX app is optional and adds presets, remote preheating, live readings and LED settings; it needs a ShishaX account.
Is there an app for iPhone too?
Yes, via the free "SHX Browser" from the App Store; inside it you open the web app shishax.app. On Android you install the ShishaX app from Google Play.
Will the ShishaX VOLTA fit my hookah?
On most hookahs, yes. It sits on the head adapter just like a head; the 18 mm silicone grommet fits most, and if it sits loosely, use the included 16 mm grommet.
Can I use my own head or an HMD?
No, and it isn't necessary either. The ceramic chamber of the ShishaX VOLTA replaces the head, and the heat zones replace charcoal and an HMD.
When do I replace the ceramic chambers and screens?
You need one lower and one upper screen per fill; replace screens once they're badly clogged. Only replace a ceramic chamber once it has cracks; discolouration is normal.
How do I clean the ShishaX VOLTA?
Switch it off, let it cool for at least 30 minutes, take the chamber out with tweezers and brush the heating chamber out dry. Remove the battery before a thorough clean; never rinse the device or put it in the dishwasher.
How do I register the manufacturer's warranty?
Sign in at portal.shishax.eu with a ShishaX account, click "+ Register Device" under "Warranty", enter the serial number and purchase date, choose "Other" under "Purchased From?" and upload your invoice. That gives you 1 year of manufacturer's warranty on the device and 6 months on the battery; your statutory warranty with us is unaffected.

Open portal.shishax.eu and sign in with your ShishaX account. If you don't have one yet, create it there.

Click "+ Register Device" in the "Warranty" menu.

Fill in the form: product, serial number, purchase date, choose "Other" under "Purchased From?", upload your invoice, add your name and address.

Submit. ShishaX checks the registration within 1–2 working days.
Not covered: ceramic chambers, screens, brushes, tools. Warranty case: ticket with the manufacturer, return instructions, repair or replacement within 5–10 working days.
