About Red Bull
In the early 1980s Dietrich Mateschitz came across the energy drink Krating Daeng in Thailand. In 1984 he founded Red Bull GmbH together with Chaleo Yoovidhya; in 1987 the first can went on sale in Austria, followed by Germany in 1994. The company is based in Fuschl am See near Salzburg.
The Editions
The Editions share the base recipe of classic Red Bull with caffeine, taurine and B vitamins, plus a fruit flavour and their own can colour. The Peach Edition in the red can tastes of peach. The Winter Edition Fuji Apple & Ginger combines sweet apple with a slight ginger heat. Each Winter Edition is only available for one season.

Caffeine and sugar
A 250 ml can contains 80 mg of caffeine, about as much as a cup of coffee, plus 1 g of taurine. The sugared versions have 11 g of sugar and 45 kcal per 100 ml. Because of its increased caffeine content, Red Bull is not recommended for children or for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

How much caffeine is in a can of Red Bull?
80 mg per 250 ml can, which is 32 mg per 100 ml. The Editions contain the same amount as classic Red Bull.
How much caffeine per day is considered safe?
The European Food Safety Authority considers up to 200 mg at once and up to 400 mg spread over the day safe for healthy adults. Coffee, tea and other caffeinated drinks count towards this.
How do the Editions differ from classic Red Bull?
Caffeine, taurine and sugar are the same. The Editions also have a fruit flavour and their own can colour.
Is there a deposit on the cans?
Yes, every can carries a €0.25 single-use deposit. The deposit is included in the price. You return empty cans at a deposit machine in shops.
