Description

The Tornado 5 Hole is a multi-hole bowl made of stoneware with a flat, wide reservoir. It holds around 12 to 13 g of Virginia tobacco or 16 to 17 g of dark leaf. Thanks to the roughened rim, a standard HMD sits firmly on it.

The limited Karneval glaze mixes yellow, orange, purple, light blue and a little green in bold patches, while the foot stays unglazed in beige. Hookain calls this natural tone Stone. You can find more finishes under Tornado.

Flat reservoir, large surface area

The reservoir of the Tornado is flat and wide. The tobacco therefore lies under the heat in a thin layer with a large surface area. This works well with the HMD, which gives off the heat evenly from above.

Five holes in the base

Five holes sit in the base of the reservoir, and the tobacco lies directly on top of them. When you draw, the heat passes through the tobacco and the smoke travels down into the smoke column. This gives a direct draw. With very wet tobacco or packing that is too dense, molasses can run through the holes. So pack loosely and do not overfill.

HMD or aluminium foil

The rim is roughened. A standard HMD sits securely on it and does not slip. The Tornado can also be smoked classically with aluminium foil.

Stoneware from Spain

The Tornado is made in Spain from stoneware and fired at around 1,200 °C. This makes the material dense. Each model has its own colouring. A silicone bowl grommet is intended for sealing on the hookah.

How to pack the Tornado

  1. Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin and let very moist tobacco drain a little.
  2. Spread the tobacco loosely and evenly in the flat reservoir, without pressing it down.
  3. Fill to just below the rim so that the HMD or foil does not touch the tobacco.
  4. Put on a standard HMD or stretch aluminium foil tight and perforate it finely.
  5. Place the charcoal on top, let it warm up calmly and regulate the heat via the number and position of the charcoal pieces.

Frequently asked questions

How much tobacco fits in the Tornado?

Around 12 to 13 g of Virginia tobacco or 16 to 17 g of dark leaf. How much it is exactly depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack.

Does an HMD fit on the Tornado?

Yes, a standard HMD fits and sits firmly thanks to the roughened rim. Aluminium foil works too.

Do the models differ?

In colour and glaze. Shape, reservoir and rim are the same on all models.

How do I clean the bowl?

Only once the bowl has cooled down completely do you rinse it out with lukewarm water and clear the holes. Hot ceramic cannot withstand cold shock.
