The AO Blazer 1000 W is an electric charcoal lighter with an open heating coil and charcoal grid for natural hookah charcoal. With 1000 W and a large grid surface you get charcoal glowing for several bowls at once.
How it works
The round heating coil sits open in the flat housing, with the included charcoal grid placed on top. You switch on and set the heat with the rotary dial, and a red indicator light shows that it is running. Four feet keep the device at a distance from the tabletop.
Lighting charcoal
- Place the grid on the coil and lay the natural charcoal on it.
- Turn up the dial and let the charcoal start glowing.
- Turn the cubes with the charcoal tongs until all sides are glowing through.
- Switch the device off and let it cool down.
Only light charcoal in well-ventilated rooms or outdoors.
Dimensions and technical data
The flat housing is about 22 × 22 cm in size. The Blazer runs on a normal mains socket with 220–240 V. Before first use, let it run for a few minutes without charcoal so that production residues burn off.

Frequently asked questions
Why should I always use the grid?
If the charcoal lies directly on the coil, ash and fragments end up on it. The grid keeps a distance and protects the heating coil.
Is the Blazer meant for continuous use in a bar?
No. The manufacturer intends it for private use, not for commercial use.

Ideal for home
The lighter is the optimal solution for me.
You have enough watts so the charcoal lights quickly enough.
But at the same time not too many watts so it becomes "unnecessary".
At my place it's been doing its thing brilliantly for quite a while now.
