The AO Blazer T is a compact 500 W electric charcoal lighter in pot shape for natural hookah charcoal. The charcoal lies in a perforated insert above the heating coil, and with the removable handle you lift the insert off together with the embers.
How it works
A heating unit with a coil sits on the round base, with the charcoal insert with a perforated bottom above it. Air slots in the walls let oxygen reach the embers. It is switched on with the rocker switch on the base and runs on 220-240 V at 50-60 Hz. According to the supplier, a thermostat protects the device from overheating.
Lighting the charcoal
- Put natural charcoal into the insert.
- Switch the device on and let the charcoal start to glow.
- Turn the charcoal with the tongs until it is glowing through all around.
- Lift off the insert with the handle or place the charcoal individually on the bowl, then switch off.
Only light charcoal in well-ventilated rooms or outdoors.

What is the removable handle for?
The handle is hooked onto the charcoal insert. This way you carry the glowing charcoal to the bowl without touching the hot insert.
How many bowls does it cover?
The insert is small and designed for the charcoal for one bowl. You can also use the upper part as a small charcoal basket. For several bowls at once, a flat lighter with a larger grate is more practical.

Upgrade from the conventional coil lighter
I'm really very happy with the lighter.
Thanks to the lighter's design, the coals heat up quickly and, above all, evenly.
But watch out, the casing of the lighter gets very very hot, so don't leave any base standing next to it (unfortunately I'm speaking from experience 😅.)
