Copa is a hand-thrown phunnel
Every Copa is thrown by hand on the potter's wheel. That makes each head one of a kind, so small differences in shape and surface are nothing unusual but part of the making. If you are not after a purely specialised head but a model for different setups, that is exactly the appeal of the Copa.
Hookain tip: An everyday phunnel often makes sense when you do not want to swap the head for every session or rebuild your setup completely.
What goes into the Copa
The Copa is made of German stoneware clay from the Eifel and is fired twice. Its signature is small red dots in the stoneware.
In practice the main thing is that the stoneware is easy to clean. That is handy if you switch between flavours often.

Which setups the Copa is made for
The Copa is an all-rounder. It suits pipe tobacco and Virginia mixes in particular, and dark blends also run well in it. If you are not strictly tied to a single tobacco style in your choice, that fits the character of this head well.
With an inner diameter of 6 cm, the Copa is built for classic smoking with aluminium foil. Through the hole pattern and the charcoal position you control the heat and can build different tobaccos in a controlled way.
- makes sense if you switch between different tobaccos
- practical if you want an uncomplicated phunnel
- fitting if hand-thrown production matters to you
- interesting if easy cleaning counts in everyday use
