The Argile Tradi No. 1 is a traditional hookah made of solid brass. It is 74 cm tall, has a plug-in connection and comes with a glass bowl, clay head and goat leather hose. The Tradi No. 1 is available in five bowl colours: Dark Blue, Transparent, White, Black and Arua Blue.
Tradi design without purge valve
The Tradi No. 1 follows the classic model. There is no purge valve, you control the smoke through your draw alone. You plug the brass stem into the neck of the glass bowl. The plug-in connection joins the two tightly without any thread.
Material and workmanship
The stem and base are made of brass, the bowl of glass. Brass is robust. Untreated brass changes its surface over time and develops a patina, which is normal. The glass bowl shows you the water level.
Clay head, head screen and Phoenix top
The clay head stores heat and releases it evenly to the tobacco. The head screen and Phoenix top help to distribute the heat evenly. Clay heads are porous. Let the head cool down completely after the session before you clean it, because a thermal shock can damage it.
Goat leather hose
The hose is made of goat leather, as is usual for tradis. It is soft in the hand and keeps its shape. Leather hoses are not washable, so do not rinse it out.
How to set up the Tradi No. 1
- Fill the glass bowl with water until the downstem sits about 2 cm in the water.
- Plug the brass stem with downstem into the bowl and make sure it sits firmly.
- Attach the goat leather hose to the hose port.
- Put tobacco into the clay head, fit the head screen and Phoenix top and place the head on the stem.
- Put on the charcoal and take your time to heat up the bowl.
Care and cleaning
After the session, rinse the stem and downstem with lukewarm water, with a soft brush if needed, and let everything dry. Rinse the bowl with warm, not hot, water. Use brass polish only on the outer surfaces.
