D.A.SH - Uovo - Bowl - Frosted Clear

The D.A.SH Uovo is a plug-in base made of glass in a classic teardrop shape. It is about 26 to 27 cm tall, up to 19 cm wide and weighs about 1.9 kg. It is made in Spain and intended for medium and large plug-in hookahs.

Teardrop shape with cuts

Frosted Clear is the matt version in transparent.

The belly of the Uovo is wide, and towards the top the glass tapers into the neck. On the white version fine, overlapping cuts run across the surface, with a transparent strip running from the neck down into the belly. The matt Frosted versions carry wide, diagonal cuts instead. Depending on the version, the Uovo is available in clear, matt (Frosted) or white glass.

Regular glass instead of crystal glass

The base is made of regular glass and is therefore lighter than a heavy crystal base. Depending on the batch it is mouth-blown or pressed. On pressed bases fine seams may be visible, and small air inclusions also occur. This is part of this production method and does not change the function. The neck opening measures 4.5 cm inside and 7 cm outside.

Plug-in base: stem and seal

D.A.SH bases have no screw thread. The stem is pushed into the neck of the base with a silicone seal. This only fits hookahs with a plug-in system. Before buying, measure your downstem including diffuser: it must not touch the glass bottom inside the base.

How to use the Uovo

1. Check whether your downstem with diffuser fits into the base and does not touch the bottom.
2. Fill in water until the downstem is submerged about 2 to 3 cm. More water makes the draw heavier.
3. Fit the stem with the seal firmly into the neck of the base.
4. Stand the hookah upright before you attach the hose and start smoking.

Care

Empty the base after the session and rinse it by hand with lukewarm water, with mild washing-up liquid if needed. Do not put it in the dishwasher. Glass does not tolerate thermal shock, so no boiling water and no abrupt switching between very hot and very cold.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Uovo fit every hookah?

Only hookahs with a plug-in system. The base has no screw thread. Also pay attention to the length of your downstem.

What is the difference between the Uovo, the Uovo Cut and the Uovo Mini?

They are separate models. The Uovo Cut carries two cut rings, the Uovo Mini is the compact version. Depending on the version, the Uovo carries overlapping or wide, diagonal cuts.

Are seams and air inclusions a defect?

No. Depending on the batch the base is mouth-blown or pressed, which creates fine seams and small air inclusions. Function is not affected.
