The D.A.SH Uovo Cut is a push-fit glass bowl in a drop shape with two circumferential cut rings. It is around 26 to 27 cm tall, up to 19 cm wide and weighs about 1.9 kg. It is made in Spain.
Two cut rings on neck and belly
One ring of overlapping cuts sits in the neck area, a second one above the belly. This is what sets the Uovo Cut apart from the Uovo. Depending on the version, the Uovo Cut comes in clear, black or grey glass.
Ordinary glass, mouth-blown or pressed
The bowl is made of ordinary glass, not crystal glass, and is therefore lighter than heavy crystal bowls. Depending on the batch it is mouth-blown or pressed. Pressed bowls may show fine seams, and small air bubbles are possible. The neck opening measures 4.5 cm inside and 7 cm outside.
Push-fit bowl with silicone grommet
The Uovo Cut has no screw thread. The stem sits in the neck of the bowl with a silicone grommet, so the bowl fits hookahs with a push-fit system. Check the length of your downstem including the diffuser beforehand; it should not touch the glass bottom.
How to use the Uovo Cut
- Test-fit the downstem with the diffuser and check that it does not touch the bottom.
- Add water until the downstem is submerged by about 2 to 3 cm.
- Push the stem with the grommet firmly into the neck of the bowl.
- Stand the hookah upright, attach the hose and take your time getting it started.
Care
After the session, rinse the bowl by hand with lukewarm water, with a little mild washing-up liquid if needed. Not dishwasher safe. Avoid thermal shock: no boiling water and no quick change from very hot to very cold.
