Description

The Cosmo Bowl Shot is the compact version of the Turkish: a multi-hole bowl made of red clay, handmade in Russia. It is just over 8 cm tall, almost 7 cm wide and holds around 11 to 13 g of tobacco.

Small reservoir for economical sessions

On the outside, the Shot has almost the dimensions of the Turkish, but the reservoir is much smaller. This means you get by with less tobacco, for example when you smoke alone or in between. The holes sit in the flat reservoir floor; there is no chimney in the middle.

What is different with a multi-hole bowl

The tobacco lies directly above the holes. If it is too wet or packed too tightly, molasses can run into the stem. This is noticed faster with a small reservoir, so pack the Shot loosely and not too full.

HMD or foil

The rim has the standard size, and common HMDs and smokeboxes fit on it. Foil works as well. Because there is little tobacco in the bowl, little charcoal is enough. Start carefully and add more rather than burning the tobacco right at the start.

Red clay, shaped by hand

Cosmo Bowl shapes every Shot by hand in Russia from red clay and fires it at around 1100 °C. The models differ in the motif worked into the clay, for example as a relief or grooves. To seal it on the hookah you need a suitable bowl grommet.

How to pack the Cosmo Bowl Shot

  1. Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin so that the molasses is evenly distributed. Let very wet tobacco drain briefly.
  2. Sprinkle the tobacco loosely into the reservoir and do not press it down. The holes in the floor must stay free.
  3. With an HMD, fill to just below the rim; with foil, a little less so that 2 to 3 mm of air remain to the foil.
  4. Put on the HMD or stretch the foil tight, poke many small holes and re-tighten.
  5. Light up with little charcoal and raise the heat slowly. Add more if needed.

Frequently asked questions

How much tobacco fits in the Cosmo Bowl Shot?

Around 11 to 13 g. The exact amount depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack.

Is the session shorter with the Shot?

With less tobacco there is also less to smoke. With steady heat you still get a decent session.

Does my HMD fit on the Shot?

Yes, the rim has the standard size. Common HMDs and smokeboxes fit on it, and foil works as well.

Do the models differ?

Only in the motif. Shape, reservoir and rim are the same on all Shot models. Because every bowl is made by hand, each piece looks slightly different.

How do I clean the bowl?

Only once the bowl has cooled down completely, rinse it with lukewarm water and clear the holes. Hot clay does not tolerate thermal shock.
