The Coal Catcher is a small charcoal container that you hang directly on the charcoal tray of your hookah. You park surplus charcoal there or tap off the ash without fetching a separate charcoal basket.
How it works
Two wire brackets place the container on the edge of the tray, and a star screw clamps it in place. The mount aligns it horizontally and lets it hang on common hookah charcoal trays. Inside there is a removable grid on which the charcoal rests.
Why on the tray
Many charcoal trays have engravings or coatings, and some metals discolour when glowing charcoal sits on them for hours. With the Coal Catcher the tray stays free: charcoal that is not currently on the head, and ash, end up in the container.

How do I empty the Coal Catcher?
Let the charcoal cool in the container after the session. Then take out the grid and tip out the ash and remains.
