Other glasses for special setups
With glasses like these, it is not only the looks that count. What matters is that neck, height and overall shape fit your stem and downstem. Plug-in bases with a 4.5 cm neck opening fit many plug-in hookahs, while threaded and click bases only fit the matching model. So check carefully before buying whether your setup really fits together.
Hookain tip: Measure the inner diameter at the glass neck and also compare the depth of the base with your downstem. If the tube is too long or the stem does not sit cleanly, the setup quickly becomes wobbly or impractical in everyday use.
What to look out for when choosing
- Fit first: The base must fit the connection of your stem, not just visually.
- Check height and depth: The downstem should stand in the water but not touch the bottom.
- Choose the shape deliberately: Wider or more strikingly cut glasses mainly change the stance, handling and look of your setup.

The glasses here differ mainly in the connection. Plug-in bases such as Caesar Crystal, D.A.SH, Darkside or Tyrant take the stem with a seal in the glass neck. WOOKAH vases have a stainless steel thread and are matched to WOOKAH stems, while the Steamulation Ultimate Bowl sits on the Ultimate stem via Steam Click. If you already know which brand or series you need, the brand name gets you to your goal fastest.
For compact hookahs there are mini bases around 19 to 22 cm tall, such as the D.A.SH Dizzy Mini and Lumux Mini, WOOKAH mini vases or the Steamulation Xpansion Mini replacement glass. Plain transparent plug-in replacement glasses come in 19 and 26 cm heights.
