The Aladin Alux M2.1 is a large hookah from the Alux Series of the brand Aladin. The smoke column is made of aluminium, the base of glass. It is about 54 cm tall (without bowl) and appears in Blue and Green.
Click system and Closed Chamber
You set up the M2.1 with a click closure, without a thread. A Closed Chamber system sits in the base: you blow stale smoke out of the base through the hose before you carry on drawing. The valve ball has a diameter of 10 mm.
Diffuser on the downstem
The diffuser on the downstem is adjustable and can be removed. With the diffuser the bubbling gets quieter; without it you hear the classic bubbling more clearly.
18/8 ground joint and extension
Bowl and hose adapters sit on 18/8 ground joints. You can also attach a molasses catcher with an 18/8 ground joint to them. The M2.1 has one hose port as delivered. With a separately available second hose adapter you smoke it with two people.
Bowl set and accessories
A clay bowl and a Mockingbird top are included in the set. The top spreads the heat of the charcoal so that the tobacco heats evenly. The charcoal tongs are included as well.
Colours
The M2.1 is available in Blue and Green. The colour relates to the glass of the base. Set-up and equipment are the same for both.
How to set up the M2.1
- Fill the base with water so that the downstem dips in about 2 cm.
- Put on the smoke column and click it in.
- Push the hose adapter onto the 18/8 ground joint and attach the hose.
- Put tobacco into the clay bowl, place the Mockingbird top and position the charcoal.
- Let it start and regulate the heat via the charcoal.
Care and cleaning
After the session, rinse the base and column with warm water. You can remove the diffuser for cleaning. Let the clay bowl cool down completely before rinsing.
