The Aladin Alux M2.1 is a large hookah from the Alux Series by the brand Aladin. The stem is made of aluminium, the base of glass. It is about 54 cm tall (without bowl) and comes in blue and green.
Click system and Closed Chamber
You assemble the M2.1 with a click lock, without threads. The base contains a Closed Chamber System: you blow stale smoke out of the glass base through the hose before you draw again. The valve ball has a diameter of 10 mm.
Diffuser on the downstem
The diffuser on the downstem is adjustable and removable. With the diffuser the bubbling is quieter; without it you hear the classic bubbling more clearly.
18/8 ground joint and expansion
The bowl and hose adapters sit on 18/8 ground joints. You can also fit a molasses catcher with an 18/8 joint there. Out of the box the M2.1 has one hose port. With a separately available second hose adapter you can smoke it with two people.
Chimney bowl set and accessories
The set includes a clay bowl and a Mockingbird attachment. The attachment distributes the heat of the coal so that the tobacco heats through evenly. Coal tongs are included as well.
Colours
The M2.1 is available in blue and green. The colour refers to the glass of the base. Construction and equipment are the same for both.
How to set up the M2.1
- Fill the glass base with water so that the downstem is submerged about 2 cm.
- Put on the stem and click it into place.
- Push the hose adapter onto the 18/8 ground joint and connect the hose.
- Put tobacco into the clay bowl, place the Mockingbird attachment on top and position the coal.
- Start smoking and control the heat via the coal.
Care and cleaning
After the session, rinse the glass base and stem with warm water. You can remove the diffuser for cleaning. Let the clay bowl cool down completely before rinsing.
