The Plug by Hookain is a heavy Phunnel bowl made of stoneware, fired at 1250 °C, with a roughened lip for standard HMDs. It holds around 12 g of Virginia tobacco or 16 g of dark leaf; packed sparingly, 10 g is also enough.
Roughened lip for a secure HMD fit
Each The Plug has a roughened lip on the reservoir on which the HMD sits firmly. Because the stoneware is fired densely at a high temperature, molasses does not stick to the lip and wipes off easily. The rim has the standard size, common HMDs fit.
Phunnel: one hole in the middle, tobacco in a ring
In the middle sits a raised chimney with a single hole, and the tobacco lies in the reservoir all around it. This way no molasses runs into the smoke column, and the HMD passes the heat evenly onto the tobacco from above.
Stoneware from Sevilla, fired at 1250 °C
The Plug is made in a small workshop in Sevilla from high-fired stoneware. The material is very dense, the bowl is correspondingly heavy and sits solidly in the hand. The glaze gives each model its colour, on the Black Wave model: black, blue, metallic and Stone. A silicone bowl grommet is intended for sealing on the hookah. How to pack The Plug
- Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin so that the molasses is evenly distributed.
- Scatter the tobacco loosely into the reservoir around the chimney and do not press it down. The centre hole stays free.
- Fill to just below the lip so that the HMD does not touch the tobacco. Around 10 g is enough for a frugal session.
- Put the HMD on, place the charcoal, start smoking for a few minutes and regulate the heat via the vents.

How much tobacco fits in The Plug?

What is the difference from the POPO?
Like the POPO, The Plug is a Phunnel made of stoneware fired at 1250 °C. What is typical of The Plug is the roughened lip on which the HMD sits firmly.
Do the models differ?
Only in colour and glaze. Shape, reservoir and lip are the same on all models. Because every bowl is handmade, each piece looks slightly different.
How do I clean the bowl?
Only once the bowl on the hookah has cooled down completely do you rinse it out with lukewarm water. Hot ceramic cannot take a cold shock, otherwise the glaze can crack.
Why does molasses come out on the outside?
Ceramic has fine pores. When the bowl gets hot, molasses can soak in and come back out on the outside as it cools. High-fired stoneware and glaze slow this down, but with ceramic it can never be prevented entirely.

Viel Rauch!
Ich habe mit meiner Frau ordentlich Wolken gemacht. Im Partykeller sieht das Schwarz auf meiner Shisha richtig stark aus. Das Geld ist gut angelegt. Kein Eigengeschmack, nur der Tabak kommt durch. Das hole ich mir jederzeit wieder.

Ich wechsle gern die Sorten, deshalb brauchte ich einen weiteren. Auch wenn ich mal abgelenkt bin, wird es nicht gleich scharf. Die Wärme verteilt sich gut über den ganzen Tabak. Wer überlegt: einfach machen.

Meine ehrliche Meinung nach sechs Wochen. Auch für Anfänger gut zu handhaben, man macht wenig falsch. Beim Befüllen hat er genau das richtige Gewicht, nichts rutscht weg. Hab es zweimal bestellt, einmal für mich und einmal zum Verschenken. Schon beim ersten Zug mit den Jungs war ich überrascht, wie schnell der Geschmack da ist. Keine Molasse im Schlauch mehr, seit ich ihn benutze. Fünf Sterne von mir.
