The N!CE Phunnel is a solid Phunnel bowl made of glazed stoneware from Spain with a very shallow depot. It holds about 6 g of Virginia tobacco or 10 g of Dark Leaf and is built for standard HMDs.
On Chocolate Mint, the glaze in the depot shows purple and violet with white speckles, and the outside of the bowl is brown like chocolate. You can find more models under N!CE.
Very shallow depot, little tobacco
The depot of the N!CE Phunnel is clearly shallower than on typical bowls. You therefore get by with little tobacco. Because the tobacco sits close under the HMD, a calm heat-up and rather careful heat are worthwhile.
Phunnel: one hole in the middle, tobacco in a ring
In the middle sits a raised funnel with a single hole, and the tobacco lies in the depot around it. This keeps the molasses in the bowl instead of running into the smoke column, and the HMD passes the heat onto the tobacco from above.
Built for standard HMDs
The rim has the standard size; common HMDs sit on it and finish flush. You control the heat through the HMD's vent.
Solid stoneware from Spain
The N!CE Phunnel is made in Spain from stoneware with a solid body. The models are named after ice cream flavors: in the depot the glaze shows the color of the model, and outside the bowl is kept caramel or chocolate brown depending on the model. A silicone bowl seal is intended for sealing on the hookah.
How to pack the N!CE Phunnel
- Briefly mix the tobacco in the tin so the molasses is evenly distributed.
- Sprinkle the tobacco loosely into the shallow depot around the funnel and do not press it down. The center hole stays free.
- Fill only to just below the rim so the HMD does not touch the tobacco.
- Put the HMD on, add the charcoal and heat up for a few minutes.
- Control the heat through the HMD's vent. If the smoke turns harsh, open the vent further or remove a piece of charcoal.

How much tobacco fits in the N!CE Phunnel?
About 6 g of Virginia tobacco or 10 g of Dark Leaf. The exact amount depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack.
Will my HMD fit on the bowl?
Yes, the rim has the standard size. Common HMDs sit on it and finish flush.
Can I also smoke the bowl with aluminum foil?
It is designed for HMD. Foil works too, but because of the shallow depot the foil sits very close to the tobacco. Stretch it tight and work with little charcoal.
Do the models differ?
In color and glaze. Shape, depot and rim are the same on all models. Because the glaze flows slightly differently on every bowl, each piece is one of a kind.
How do I clean the bowl?
Only once the bowl on the hookah has cooled down completely do you rinse it with lukewarm water. Hot ceramic cannot take a cold shock, and the glaze may crack otherwise.
