The Alpha Hookah Model X is a hookah with a stem made of anodised aluminium, stainless steel parts and a plug-in base made of glass. It is made in Saint Petersburg, is around 45 cm high and weighs about 5 kg. The colours available are Artist Red Matte, Blue Matt, Florida, Neon and Red Candy. It does not come with a bowl; you choose one among the hookah bowls.
Construction and stem
The Model X has a closed chamber system: you quickly blow the smoke out of the base and start the next round with fresh flavour. The inner diameter of the stem is about 13 mm. The hose sits on a magnetic hose adapter.
Draw and diffuser
On the downstem sits a removable diffuser that you can adjust. With the diffuser the draw becomes quieter and calmer; without it, it stays more open.
Plug-in base instead of thread
The base is not screwed but plugged onto the stem. That protects the connection points and makes setup and take-down quick. Glasses and stems of the Model X can be swapped, so you can change colour and glass later.
Material and workmanship
The stem is made of anodised aluminium, plus parts made of stainless steel and the glass base. The silicone hose has a soft-touch surface. Small bubbles or scratches in the glass can occur due to manufacturing and do not affect function.
How to set up the Model X
- Fill water into the plug-in base until the downstem stands about 2 cm in the water.
- Plug the stem with downstem and diffuser into the base and make sure it sits firmly.
- Attach the silicone hose to the magnetic hose adapter.
- Pack the bowl, place it on the stem and put the charcoal on the Alpha charcoal plate.
- Start calmly.
Care and cleaning
Rinse the stem through with warm water after the session and brush it out if needed. You take off the diffuser for that. Rinse the glass base with warm, not hot, water.
