Description

The Diamond Hookah clay bowl is a classic multi-hole bowl made of a clay mixture with five holes in the bottom. It is about 8 cm tall and 6.6 cm wide and holds about 20 g of tobacco.

Classic clay bowl with five holes

There are five holes in the bottom of the tobacco chamber, and the tobacco lies directly above them. This is the classic design: easy to pack, forgives small mistakes and gives a good draw. With about 20 g, the chamber is large enough for a normal session.

What changes with a multi-hole bowl

Unlike the Phunnel, there is no chimney that keeps the molasses in the bowl. If the tobacco is too wet or packed too tightly, molasses can run through the holes into the smoke column. So pack the bowl loosely and stir the tobacco well beforehand.

Aluminium foil or chimney

The clay bowl is made for the classic set-up. With aluminium foil you fill it about three quarters full so that the tobacco does not touch the foil. With a chimney, the charcoal sits higher, and you can fill up to just below the rim.

Clay mixture in several colours

The bowl is made of a clay mixture that stores the heat and passes it on evenly to the tobacco. The models differ only in colour; shape and chamber are the same.

How to pack the bowl with aluminium foil

  1. Before first use, rinse the bowl briefly with water and let it dry.
  2. Stir the tobacco a little in the tub to distribute the molasses well. Let very wet tobacco drain for a moment.
  3. Sprinkle the tobacco loosely into the chamber, up to about three quarters, and do not press it down. The five holes in the bottom must stay free.
  4. Keep the rim clean, stretch sturdy aluminium foil or two layers of thin foil over it and poke many small holes.
  5. Place two or three well-glowing coals, let it start for a few minutes and regulate the heat with the number and position of the coals. Add more if needed.

Frequently asked questions

How much tobacco fits in the clay bowl?

About 20 g. The exact amount depends on the cut, the moisture and how loosely you pack it.

How many holes does the bowl have?

Five, all in the bottom of the chamber. Keep them free when packing; otherwise the draw is heavy.

Do the models differ?

Only in colour. Shape, chamber and holes are the same on all models.

How do I clean the bowl?

Only once the bowl has cooled down completely, empty it, rinse it with water and let it dry. Hot ceramic does not tolerate cold shock.
